Campsites are close but nice. We rented 4 sites for two couples for extra space and didn’t seem so small doing it that way. Bathrooms were nice and there were plenty of them. Separate and single bathrooms and showers. One local redneck drove by our campsite and asked when the campground closed. He then drove by 2 more times. When walking at night we saw the same truck w another car trying to break in to the cash box. Needless to say we didn’t feel as safe as we would have like to. Camp w friends and I think overall you will have a great experience here.

Very nice campground on a ridge above beautiful Santeetlah Lake. The area is well positioned for hiking and exploring Cherohala Skyway, fishing, visiting Nantahala Outdoor Center, Cherokee, Tapoco Lodge and the Tail of the Dragon. No hookups were available but the bathhouses were nice and a dump station was available at Graham County Waste Facilities in Robbinsville.

Cheoah campground is clean, private, and well-maintained. The hosts were fantastic to work with as well as very knowledgeable. The hosts also were very kind, professional, and took utmost thought to overseeing that each camper at each site had their needs met and were very respectful to all camping in the campground. We loved the serene setting, the privacy, the cleanliness of the park and the cleanliness of the showers and bathrooms. All of this together made our stay a wonderful, peaceful retreat! We will definitely stay here again! Thanks to all for this wonderful much needed stay!

We reserved site 19. The campsites are on a ridge, high above the lake, which isn't even visible from the sites. The site was full of weeds and unmowed grass, and the campfire ring was unusable as it was full of ash discard and had a twisted metal grate. The worse part of this site, however, was how narrow and close it is to each of it's neighboring site. There is absolutely no division between the sites. It was so bad that we didn't stay - do not recommend!

The nicest location with the worst kept restroom/shower facilities of any campground I have ever stayed in.

My reserved site was occupied when I got there. Host told me to take next one over. Then the person who reserved that one showed up. Luckily everyone was accommodating but the people who took my reserved spot should have been told to move. The sites were too close and had too many cars, trailers, boats, motorcycles, and tents in them to be a quiet, natural experience for a national forest. People next to us were noisy until 2am.
