What Guests Are Saying
Cheoah Point Campground offers a beautiful and serene setting near Santeetlah Lake, with friendly and helpful hosts, clean bathrooms, and well-maintained facilities. While campsites are close together, many visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere and scenic views, making it a great spot for group camping. Some concerns include limited privacy at RV sites and occasional safety issues, but overall, guests look forward to returning for a peaceful retreat.

Nice dry camping sites. We reserved one of the electric sites, Bath houses and water were close to the sites.

Cheowah point is an awesome campground. The lake is incredible and the facilities were in great condition and kept clean. My only wish is that you could reserve tent sites. I'm not sure why on the RV sites are reserable.

bathrooms needed cleaning, too many dogs allowed to keep barking, only stayed one night but never did see host

We camp at Cheoah every May. We love the campground and the lake, the only thing that would make it better is water hookups and either septic at each of the sites 18 through 23 or a dump station. We will be returning again this year if possible or definitely by next May.

Beautiful lake!! The non electric sites are paired up but many are spacious and have awesome lake views. Wish they were available to reserve. First come first serve only. The RV sites are cozy with their neighbors. Kayaked the lake from an awesome near by marina. Easy access. Close access to Cherohala parkway and Joyce Kilmer. Beautiful area of the country. Can’t wait to go again!

Showers might have been hottest I have experienced in government campground; clean too.
Campground needs a Dump Station. I can’t figure out why water is not supplied to the few electric sites; they are tightly grouped and about 100 feet from bathroom/shower facility.
