What Guests Are Saying
Cheoah Point Campground offers a beautiful and serene setting near Santeetlah Lake, with friendly and helpful hosts, clean bathrooms, and well-maintained facilities. While campsites are close together, many visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere and scenic views, making it a great spot for group camping. Some concerns include limited privacy at RV sites and occasional safety issues, but overall, guests look forward to returning for a peaceful retreat.

Bathrooms very nice. Camp spots way too close, gravel road in campground very dusty.

Great location on Santeetlah Lake, near Joyce Kilmer/Slickrock, etc. Sites are widely spaced (except for RV, which are as close as some commercial campgrounds). RV sites do have power, and potable water is close (will have to carry it about 30 yards or so). Plenty of bathhouses, nice primitive cabins right on the water. Great host(ess), clean and quiet. We did get adequate Verizon cell service in the RV sites.

Very nice campground. Electricity but no water at the sites. There is water in the campground so take a container to transport water from the port to your site to file your tank

It did not say that the roads were dirt ! We were on a motorcycle and dirt roads and motorcycles don't mix! There needs to be more spots with electric hook-ups.

We enjoyed our stay. Our site was right next to the showers and bathroom very nice facility. Hot showers, sites are a little close in the electric sites, but very nice campsite fire ring, picnic table, site was level. We camped in a 36 foot long fifth wheel. This site offered plenty of space for us. We on boarded water at one of the many water stations in the campground. Maneuvering, a large fifth wheel or motorhome is a little tight and there is no dump station at this campground. Cell phone coverage is minimal at best. We had one bar with T-Mobile. Certainly not enough connectivity to stream TV.

Lovely location. Only downside were the bathrooms were somewhat dirty.

Four of us hiking segments of the Benton MacKaye Trail near Fontana and the Smokies camped here for a few days. The RV sites are a bit cramped, on top of each other. But the location on the lake is great and the hot showers were a welcome treat at the end of each day's hike.
