A beautiful campground that we will be recommending to friends. Everything from the camp host, to the site layout were top notch.

Lovely spot, lots of local history, good wildlife viewing, great hikes, wonderful fishing opportunities (if we'd had a license). Road not suitable for big RVs .

Beautiful campground right by the water with lots of great hiking nearby. We saw elk, too, which was the cherry on top of an otherwise perfect stay.

Cataloochee is a wonderful place - the valley is stunning, and the surrounding mountains and hiking trails are truly magical. The campground is beautifully maintained and the host was friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is the fact that the elk have become a nuisance and wander freely through the campground. This presents a danger to campers, but more importantly, to the elk. This herd, and these majestic animals, should be more carefully managed and returned to their natural state of wild. It's a sad thing to see.
