Nice park, nice people. The gate attendent called us a 11:00 a.m. to tell us our site was available. I have not had that happen in 14 years of RVing. That was very nice. Site 97 was nice and long so we could have the RV, truck and boat.

My Wife and I started off on site 86 in B section, but after a couple nights of 6 kids ages 3-6, running around our camp site and all over the road , we asked if we could be moved to another site. We were moved to site 56, which we looked at before we moved. A world of difference. We love this campground, the care takers are very friendly and will go out of their way to make things right for you. The sites are very spacious. A lot of the sites such as site 56 , has a long driveway back into the wooded area where you feel very much by yourself and mostly shaded all day. The bathrooms were very clean also. We are long time RVers and have noticed that the up kick in weekend campers have brought a lot of people that do not respect camp ground etiquette. Lots of poop left by campers not picking up their pets poop. But maybe they will learn as time goes by the general good manners that we RVers love about camping in our campgrounds. Great views of the lake and a lot of hiking trails. Overall, I have to give Bandit's Roost 5 stars. You will love this campground. We have a 28 foot travel trailer.

I have been full time travel for 3+ years and have become convinced that the federal and state parks are by far superior to any private RV park or resort. Bandits is absolutely the best suited to my needs and my dogs interest. The reservoir is so clean and accessible for swimming for both me and the 115 K9 buddy I travel with. Wilkesboro is an easy drive to any conveniences I may need. The town has several places to play Pickleball 7 days a week. I will be returning to that blue ridge foot hills location annually.
