A true gem of a campground. Run by the Army Corp of Engineers, your Golden Pass gets you half off. Many views of the reservoir, especially from the peninsula. Clean bath and shower. Beautiful sunsets. Swimming beach. Park your kayak next to the water without fear. Love this place!

Great site, great views, great hiking and water. Roomy and private tent area.
Restrooms could have used an extra cleaning day and needed an update, but we never had to wait for a toilet or a shower. We will be back.

The staff at the gate were very helpful and friendly.
Maintenance staff needs to do their job. The bathrooms were without lighting 2 days and nights. The bathrooms had no windows so they were dark. I used a flashlight to take a shower both nights. I reported the problem the next morning after the first lights out. Gate personal called maintenance while I was there. Maintenance did not show till 3:30 pm. That night there were lights. Again a repeat the third night- no lights.
The campers before me left quite a bit of unburnable trash in the fire pit along with cigarette filters scattered around the campsite. Other campgrounds clean out fire pits after each camper. Bandits Roost needs to enforce their maintenance staff to do their job!
