I love this little campground. It’s our first time there and this will be our favorite campground to “get away” close to home. It’s quiet, clean, the sites are really pretty and well spaced. I love that the campground is separated from the swim and play/picnic area so it’s really peaceful. Only 36 campsites. Bathroom was well maintained. I wouldn’t be afraid to camp here by myself. We will be regulars!

I was very happy with my campsite. Its size was great, I loved that I was surrounded by tall trees on 3 sides. While being close to the restrooms, the light didn't disturb my sleep. The water pump was very stiff and hard to operate, but I was glad to have water & electricity on my site.

Our campsite was directly across from a bathhouse. The lights were very strong at night.
The attendants at the front gate were amateurs who did not know how to work with people.

Fort Hamby is a beautiful campground. Lots of privacy. Restrooms clean. Lots of hiking for those capable of climbing hill after hill. Close to town and good phone reception. Close to Blue Ridge Parkway. Historic Wilkesboro has lots of attractions.

Very hard for big rigs to navigate the narrow roads, would be more attractive if the fallen trees and underbrush were removed, some of the sites such as 18 are very steep, my rig was sliding the truck backwards, flush toilets rather than pits would be better, the maintenance was lacking in those areas. The area is beautiful but upkeep of the grounds would help.

This campground is always a delight. Great for family fun and gathering. The gatehouse folk are some of the nicest people who are genuinely glad to see you. Well done!
