For people visiting the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Cottonwood Campground is a great place to stay. Located five miles (8 km) from the entrance to the South Unit of the park, the campground is open year-round. Love the campground and the park. We were there for hiking and biking the park loop, and of coarse just enjoyed camping. We had some great September weather and stayed 10 days.

Very nice campground. We stayed in site 49 our first few nights and it was great! Large site with an area over looking the river. Close to the bathroom. Horses came into the grounds on several occasions. Campground was very clean and comfortable with flush toilets and running water. Only improvement could have been the addition of showers

We spent four nights at Cottonwood after Labor Day. It was very peaceful and so quiet, even though the campground was near capacity every night. We loved our stay and our back-in site was #45 and very private and spacious. Highly recommend!
