Located five miles (8 km) from the entrance to the South Unit of the park, the campground is open year-round. Absolute best camping experience I have ever had. Quiet, Serene next to the Little Missouri River. Sitting out eating breakfast looking at a bison on the other side of the river. I'm definitely going back.

This was a wonderful campground to stay at, clean, well kept, and there was a resident buffalo wondering thru the campground! We kept our distance and took lots of photographs. Hope to go back sometime.

Be sure to read the site descriptions carefully. I was just able to squeeze my 24' TT into the spot and not able to open either the slide out or awning all the way. North Loop 019. Disappointed that the star gazing ranger talk was cancelled. Location was deep in the park, which was nice for wild life viewing and sunsets. Cell limited to just text. Would stay again in different spot on the other side of access road.
