What Guests Are Saying

East Ashtabula Crossing is a pleasant campground with friendly hosts and well-maintained facilities. Many visitors appreciated the beautiful lake views, swimming beach, and the peaceful atmosphere, especially during weekday stays. However, some issues were noted, including noise violations, mosquito problems, and the need for upgrades to the restroom facilities and site conditions. Overall, it's a recommended spot for nature lovers and families, despite some drawbacks.

Nice camping. We had family fishing tournament. No fish though. Didn't have fish to serve our little group.

The campground itself is good. But the shower/bathroom could really use an upgrade.

What a neat camping location, it's almost hidden from the road. Nice view of the lake, beach for swimming and a playground.

Busy place on a Saturday evening but all in all, gorgeous! The North Country Trail runs through there, for anyone looking to fulfill an adventure!

Camp hosts were very friendly, and even let me use all her hose to spare having to hitch up and move my camper just to refill my water-super helpful

Only complaint is that the East Crossing is supposed to be a dry campground with quiet hours after 10, and neither were enforced. We chose it specifically for this reason, and even though we stayed up after ten a couple times we were quiet, meanwhile there were drunks screaming at another campsite still after midnight, and the sheriffs department was out to deal with some drunks at least one night. Every other campsite on Ashtabula is open to liquor, if this one is advertised as dry, it should actually be such.

Site was close to shower house making it very convenient. Camp hosts were very nice. Tree trimming/chipping done during the time we were there. Large dead tree right above our camper which couldn’t be removed while we were on site, wondered why it wasn’t removed previously.

The area was not mowed. Our grandchildren could not even play by the camper because of all of the grass and the weeds. We could not take a shower because none of the showers worked until the last day we were there. The hosts are so wonderful and so nice but very poor conditions.

Camp host was nice and helpful. Campsites were very small and too close together. Luckily we had nice neighbors. The bathroom and showers were really nice and clean. Park and swim area were close by although the water was gross and had lots of seaweed in late August.
