I love Pettit Bay. I live really close and walk here daily but have started camping once in a while also, because it is just so beautiful and handy to kayak to goat island from the ramp. The sites are roomy and usually have plenty of space to park.
The camp is well cared for and the location can't be beat if you need to go to Tahlequah or to goat island. Take tp when you visit the bathrooms on site, as it appears to sometimes run out...especially toward the end of a weekend.

Overall a good experience. Even for a holiday weekend, it was pretty quiet at night. Our site, A8, pad was quite far from picnic table but otherwise it was fine.

Lots of loud other campers showed up after midnight and were very disruptive. Would have been a perfect spot but the loud people nearby at such late hours in the night kind of ruined it for my crew :(

The park has several spots that allow for space between campers and lots of trees.

This is a nice camp ground. Great set up with the ability to see the water from almost every campsite. Boat dock makes it easy to get on and off the boat. Roped off swimming area. Only drawback is the restrooms/showers. They are clean and presentable, but are in need of repair and updating. Especially, there is no ventilation, therefore, they are extremely hot and when showers are taken, the restroom becomes humid, the floors become wet. This has led to the pulling of paneling from the walls and build up of residue.
Overall, it is a good place to stay and I would recommend it to friends and family.
