The campgrounds were nice, but difficult to find. Make sure to bring your own equipment to clean the horse pens. The trails are rocky so be sure your animals have shoes. The attendant could use some people skills... not very friendly.

It is a wonderful campground. The thing that I learned was that there are a lot more camping spaces available then I could find on Recreation.gov GOV. We made a reservation in a campsite, and I thought that was one of the only open ones, but come to find out most of the campsites don’t seem to be reserveble through Recreation.gov. So I would suggest you do your research before you go.

Campsites we're well kept, horse pens nice size and no charge for them! Enjoyed the trails.

Great place. Good sites. Shade available. Hiking trail around lake is great and convenient. I rented site 038, a RV site, on my first reservation; I rented site 055 on my second reservation. The tent sites, like 055, are a bit small for vehicles with rooftop tents (RTT). This is not uncommon at other Recreation sites, but it makes it difficult to choose a site type not knowing if the tent site can accommodate a RTT vehicle.

It was absolutely beautiful! The area we are at was very quiet and peaceful. Only complaint I have is as soon as the sun goes does the gnats were terrible and couldn’t use flashlights or the fire without choking on them.

Very peaceful! Beautiful, level camping spots. Ours was near water making it easy to launch our kayaks. No cell signal. Hilly bicycling!
