I stayed at Doris in July 2023. The campgrounds are clean and easy to navigate. The staff and camp host are awesome. They offered ice and bundles of firewood on site. The ice comes in 7lb bags and are $3 for 1, or $5 for 2. The firewood was $5 for 1 bundle. (Prices may change). There is no playground for kids and they ask that you do not swim in the waters. The campground is within the refuge so do not be surprised if a group of Longhorn, deer, elk, buffalo, or even turkey come strolling through the site. Snakes are a common occurrence. The campground only has one bathroom/shower house with additional outhouse style restrooms. You will have to walk or drive to the showers. There is no cell reception. Overall it is a great site.

Our camp was raided by coyotes , a mountain lion, and racoons we had to sleep in the car. Other than that its always great to visit and camp. Very beautiful grounds overall.

Campground was amazing and so was the hike. The only downside is the lack of adequate and clean restrooms.

Our stay was amazing! Quiet and peaceful with plenty of chances to explore and enjoy some fishing. No cell service but that was a blessing for me. Absolutely remember the tick spray.
