Hawthorn Bluff offers a beautiful, well-spaced campground with plenty of shade, lake access, and recreational activities such as fishing and hiking. However, maintenance issues like overflowing trash, bathroom cleanliness, and access to amenities have been noted by several campers. Despite these challenges, many visitors still enjoy their experience and appreciate the park's overall charm and potential for improvement.

Overall a clean camp ground. The picnic table site we were at needed some work. It was covered in mud and dirt. The retaining railroad ties were is poor shape and accident hazard.
