About Brush Creek Public Use Area

Brush Creek is located downstream of Keystone Dam, just 10 minutes from Tulsa, Oklahoma. This park features campground provided activities such as horseshoes, cornholes, a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, a mile-long fitness trail, and quick access to nearby multi-purpose trails. This is a popular destination for fishermen as they have the ability to cross along the pedestrian bridge from the campground to the fishing berm below the dam. In additon to fishing, this area offers prime opportunities to observe multiple wildlife species.  Please note when camping here, while typically quiet, water releases from the dam are preceded by several warning signals from a horn. This is a brief safety measure for anyone in or near the water below the dam, and there is no danger to the campground.

What Guests Are Saying

Brush Creek Public Use Area is a well-maintained park that offers beautiful views of Keystone Dam and the Arkansas River, making it a popular destination for camping and outdoor activities. Visitors appreciate the clean facilities, attentive camp hosts, and spacious sites, with many planning to return. Some minor issues reported include a malfunctioning water spigot and noise from the dam's alarm, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experience.

Very well maintained campground, although I can’t comment on showerhouse as we did not use it. Host was attentive and gave good clear instructions to prepare for severe weather that was coming in. Stayed in site 16 which was very comfortable. The only negatives was malfunctioning water spigot that sprayed water constantly but a rag directed the water downward which caused a large puddle of water that had to be negotiated but on the up side did provide bird watching opportunities. The second negative was tarp covered camper in site next to us that had a large barking dog, which was left unattended and shut up in camper most of the day. Despite those two issues (which appears not to be a new development per past reviews) we will be back.
