What Guests Are Saying
Alsea Falls Recreation Site is a beautiful, well-maintained campground that offers spacious, private campsites and easy access to scenic hiking trails, including a lovely trek to Alsea Falls. Reviewers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, clean facilities, and the charming, rainforest setting. While some noted minor issues with bathroom maintenance and road noise, overall, the campground is highly recommended for a relaxing getaway in nature.

We made reservations on line but when we arrived at the campground someone was in our site, but not present. We contacted the camp host who apparently did not mark our site as reserved. He continued to tell us that there were no refunds, which is ridiculous when we paid for something we did not receive.
But…. The trails are amazing for mountain biking!

I think this is a great site. Bathrooms were clean and camp host was friendly. White noise from river was lovely.

This is a fantastic spot. I love the greenery and the waterfalls. The nearby road makes it easy to get into the campsite, and it's a largely quiet road. So you don't listen to traffic all day and all night.

I was disappointed that the toilets haven’t been pumped and were almost at the top (it takes months for this to happen)- the smell was HORRIBLE and the flies even worse! The camp host tried, but there was only so much he could do. There was no trash cans at the campsites- only two at the restrooms. Speaking of trash, at the front of the campground near where the host stays, the two giant garbage cans used for all of the campground garbage were completely filled and literally overflowing! During this same visit (8/2024) even though the fire danger was “moderate”, there was also a fire restriction prohibiting campfires which was really bad because there was no way to keep the bugs away (which they were probably worse because of the toilets and trash issue).
Lol, all this being said, the campsites themselves were very clean and well cared for. It was quiet and peaceful. We will definitely give this place another try and hopefully our next experience will be a bit more pleasant :)
