What Guests Are Saying

Alsea Falls Recreation Site is a beautiful, well-maintained campground that offers spacious, private campsites and easy access to scenic hiking trails, including a lovely trek to Alsea Falls. Reviewers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, clean facilities, and the charming, rainforest setting. While some noted minor issues with bathroom maintenance and road noise, overall, the campground is highly recommended for a relaxing getaway in nature.

Such a beautiful place to visit! The trails are well maintained; the falls are beautiful; large campsites; and quiet. I wish they had flush toilets. It's the pits with pits.

Lovely, quiet campground, well-cared for, lots of water spigots/drains, clean bathrooms. We love staying here and have our fave site which we got again this summer. Close to the Falls, just a pleasant half-mile hike to them from campground, if more energetic there is a hike up to Peak Falls, not strenuous and worth the walk. We got lucky, day we were packing up to leave, the BLM imposed NO campfire restrictions due to high fire risk (although you would never guess that, it’s so green, lush there!).

Fabulous Campground, campsites and location. Private path to river. Camp host is friendly and supplies generous firewood deals. Saw a huge mountain lion not far from the entrance near the road. I love this place. Check out Green Peak falls; it’s more spectacular than Alsea Falls in my opinion, but requires a little hike to get to.

Campground was quite and peacful. Beautiful campsites that felt very private due to the brush between site. The vault toilets were full like very full nearly reaching the top of the pit. We were there the week after a major holiday so i wasnt surprised by them being full but i did expect the truck to come pump them and it did not for the week we were there. I felt like the odor was more than usual because of this and that was not great but over all the campground was good and we will be returning.

When we arrived we were not told that there were no campfires allowed in the campsites and nowhere online did it say there were any fire bans. So we came completely unprepared for not being able to have a fire. The camp host didn’t tell us anything about it and would not refund the fee. So that was $20 wasted. Very disappointing and a terrible experience.
