What Guests Are Saying

Mona campground offers a great mix of sun and shade, with ample space between sites and clean bathrooms. The location is ideal for biking, hiking, and kayaking, and the camp host, Leslie, received high praise. While it can get crowded and noisy due to local visitors and water activities, it remains a lovely spot for camping, albeit with some bugs and algae in the lake.

We spent shy of a week at this wonderful location. More noise than we wanted from the Lookout campground, but we had such a great time and our camp host Leslie was absolutely πŸ’― the best. Great area and would highly recommend. Just be ready for the bugs and algae.

The campground is OK, lots of space between sites. The bathrooms were kept very clean and the camp host was friendly. There are great hikes within a fairly short distance. However it is a favorite of locals who come up to recreate so can get crowded both in the campground and across the reservoir in the day use area. Lots of jet skis and fishing and/or ski boats on the water. It gets noisy. Not the place to go if you like quiet but overall a nice place to camp.

Appreciated the large shaded campsite during the 105F heat wave weekend. Rope helped with going down steep bank to lake for swimming. Some algae in the lake, but we swam.

The host was grate. But the fire bane came in and that how I cook my food. I didn't get a refund for the day I couldn't stay with out a way to cook. I would be much happier if the refunded me for the 2 campsites and one night I couldn't stay

We were originally in site 10 but it was so wedged in between its neighbors there was no privacy. We were able to relocate to #14 and it was great. Easy pull through driveway and close access to drinking water.

We enjoyed our short stay in site #12 at Mona Campground. The host was pleasant and friendly and the site was large and semisecluded. The only thing I can say was below par was that we kept getting a whiff of the restroom across the road.
