Sandbeach Campground offers a clean, well-maintained environment with friendly camp hosts and excellent access to the beach and dunes, making it a great spot for families and ATV enthusiasts. Many campers appreciate the spacious sites and enjoyable atmosphere, despite some noise from OHVs and occasional bathroom maintenance issues. While it may not be ideal for those seeking peace and quiet, it provides a fun, active camping experience.

Very noisy campground. Great if you like OHV, ATVs or Side by sides. Everyone comes here to ride the dunes.

This is our 5th year coming here with our kids and large family. We have been in several spots around the campground and have been happy with every location. The camp hosts are AMAZING!!!!! Very nice couple that were pleasant to speak with, addressed any issues we found, they came to us for clarification on matters that we did not bring to their attention, and were diligent with defusing problems. This is the only place we feel the safest bringing our kids to. We always make an attempt to visit with Travis, Sandlake Protection Officer, because he followed up with us due to my sister flipping her quad several times 2 years ago. The staff, since then, remembers us and we always make time to visit with them. My family and I are thinking of coming to Sandlake a couple of times a year instead of just in August.
This is our home away from home. The campground is always clean and bathrooms stocked with essentials. Thank you for another memorable experience. See you next year!!!!!!!!
The camp host installed Starlink at their spot that allows campers to access the internet to make emergency calls only! Besides this, there is no cell service in the campground and you have to travel to sunset hill to get reception!! :)

We like the activity and family fun found at Sand Beach. We aren't ATVers but like to watch them. This year the abuse and disregard for rules is distressing. In the 2 weeks we were there we saw law enforcement drive by once and all around the were ATVs doing wheelies and racing around the CG breaking the speed limit and going the wrong way on 1 way streets. More than 1 site had more than 16 people up to 6 cars parked on the pad and on the Sand where they are specifically prohibited. Adults driving around children ages 2 and up without helmets. With cuts to FS staff I don't blame the FS but if you can't operate the CG safely then maybe it should be closed

We stayed at campsite #72. This will be our 3rd time at this spot. It’s surrounded by trees on the back side of the campsite which makes it more private. Bathroom is right across from campsite but far enough away no odors. Bathrooms were very clean the whole stay. The camp hosts cleaned them daily. The campsite is huge compared to others I would say about 8 tents could fit there. Limited shade for tents. Quite campsite less traffic as it it in a cold de sac loop in the back. Overall best spot at campground and if you like close to bathrooms and less traffic passing your campsite this is the spot.

This campground was a great find at the last minute when all others nearby were full. Don't be expecting a nice quiet stay, this is where all the ATV campers stay to access the dunes. It can be quite loud even late into the night. Besides that we had a great stay. Note: you must reserve online, you can do so at the entrance by connecting to the nearby wifi but otherwise there is no cell service.

A great place to camp and drive on the beach but we only came to overnight. The noise was unbelievable from some of these ORVs with modified exhaust systems. It quieted down pretty good at a reasonable hour with an occasional ORV starting up. Not bad for camping in a parking lot.

We had a great little getaway at Sandbeach Campground. I was pleasantly surprised as I imagined it was going to be rather loud due to the OHV vehicles, which is the reason why we came for my husband but not my cup of tea haha! We had a lot of fun, the campground hosts were top notch, very helpful & nice. Everyone we encountered was really friendly and right at 10pm the campground was silent which I appreciated. Definitely a campground for families having some fun out on the sand dunes.
