Beautiful setting but there was no camp host present the three nights/four days we were there. A campground "manager" showed up a couple times so we were able to speak with him about other campers ignoring the NO CAMPFIRE signs posted. We also had concerns about the overflowing dumpsters in the parking lot, which can attract bears. Other than those issues we really enjoyed out time there, doing the Laurance Lake Ridge hike and tooling around the lake in a kayak. The description "Hidden gem" is accurate.

Would have given this an excellent review except that we were not able to stay in the campsite we originally wanted to. There had been so much damage to the site over the last year, i could not traverse the path. But the manager and host worked to help is get a space closer to the lake. Which turned out very nice. The park host work so hard to make our stay nice. A bit Dusty but good. We were there for a week.

Overall stay was fairly good. Was not aware through the site of multiple rules. My reservation stated I was also allowed two cars (no prompt of extra fee) and camp host notified us that there was a fee. Loved how site 016 was close to the lake, but did not like how strict it was at times.

2nd time staying here this summer, this time was much quieter, campground about half full and everyone was quiet at night, day use wasn't very busy I would think its because of the bad road. The one bad thing was we had to clean up from the previous campers, ( no camp host) there was food left all over, strawberries , cherries, piles of cooked rice, and a busted up watermelon. Huge yellow jacket attraction! There is dumpsters! Camp host comes from Lost Lake a few times a day.

The camp host David and Park Ranger Steve were friendly and helpful. Site 001 was beautiful and had easy access to the lake that was just stunning! What was unbeknownst to us and were not included in other reviews, is that there is a path very near our campsite that led to a small beach next to our campsite and MOST of the day users parked by our campsite and accessed the path to the beach. They were loud and obnoxious till 8:30pm when they left.
It really is a beautiful campsite but having day users walk back and forth so close to our campsite makes me think twice of choosing campsite 001 and will choose another site away from day users.
The dirt road to the campground was a treacherous at some places. Check campground for alerts before arrival.
The lake again was beautiful and the campground a gem.
