We arrived on a Wednesday and there was no one else on our side of the campground. Even though there are only a few sites that are on the lake the majority of the sites have a view of the lake which was nice. It was better to not be right on the lake as it was very windy a few days we were there making it colder than to our liking. Our site was mostly protected by the wind due to its distance from the lake and sunny. We will definitely be going back.

This place is a favorite! A really great community and great management. Our camp neighbor was a little crabby and hated dogs. But , no big! Pack in locations are easy enough to get to. Can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely terrible experience here. Upon arrival to my site there was lots of broken glass at the tent pad, and toilet paper/human waste. The next site over was empty and marked with a OPEN tag so we moved to that one. When making his rounds, the camp host blocked the road with his truck and approached myself, my partner and child very aggressively, and intimidatingly made us move back to the original site. He was yelling and was extremely aggressive to a family being respectful trying to have a nice weekend. The next morning we filed an official police report with a ranger. This is a wonderful lake and great place to camp, but this man ruined the experience by trying to intimidate a woman and young child.

Packed with a ton of people, did not feel like we were even in the woods.

See end of review for most important point:

1) The camp hosts and managers were great and super helpful.
2) Parkdale (just down the road from Laurance Lake) has a great little grocery store to which you can make supply runs. (i.e. it might be easier to drive 10 minutes to get water rather than lugging it all in)
3) No insect issues (Beginning of August). Ok, maybe a couple mosquitoes or flies, but nothing really problematic. Did not even bother with bug spray.

Most important point: DO NOT get stuck in campsite #10. It is right next to the vault toilet. The smell of the vault toilet is strong in campsite #10. Lots of traffic to and from the toilet. Sound of door opening and slamming shut ( I don't blame people for not wanting to touch the door, but then it is loud when it closes).
The smell of the vault toilet is strong in campsite #10 (bears repeating).

Why is this site listed as accessible? The trail to the site is a rooted, hilly trail. The parking lot is gravel. The lake is also gravel and not accessible by wheelchair.

This is a nice campground, but we reserved it based on the accessibility notation on this site. We would have prepared differently if we knew it was not at all accessible. One person in our party uses a wheelchair and was not able to navigate the site or any part of the camp without significant assistance.
