What Guests Are Saying
Sherwood Campground offers a beautiful setting along the river with easy access to nearby trails and a pleasant atmosphere. Campsites are well-maintained, and the bathrooms are reasonably clean, making it suitable for short stays. While there were some issues with staff communication and limited privacy between sites, the overall experience is positive for those seeking a scenic camping getaway.

This was a nice campground but the sights were closer than I thought and the noise of the river had to compete with the highway. Still it was a pretty location.

Nice little campground not too far away from Hood River. Campground was clean and the vault toilets were not too bad. Great access to the river to cool off on those hot summer days. Only complain is our site was right next got the Highway, lots of log trucks and semi trucks roaring by but we knew that going in. Also zero cell phone service here, which is kind of nice sometimes.

Saturday 8/6/2022: We had prepaid and reserved a camping spot online. Upon arrival, we spoke to a camper in the spot across from our reserved spot and they informed us they were leaving a night early, but had prepaid for their campsite. They told us that we could move into their spot, being that it was in an open area for watching the stars. At the same time, another party was looking for a spot to camp. Being that the campground was full, we offered them our prepaid campsite. The camp host arrived 3 hours afterwards and demanded payment for both spots because he said we weren't allowed to switch sites. On this specific website - it states that there is no additional charge for switching campsites.
He yelled at me for 20+ minutes in the presence of my young niece stating that I was breaking the law. Even though both camp sites had been paid for in advance online, he demanded an additional cash payment of $24 a site for both sites. Thankfully the other campers had cash and paid it just so he would leave.
Not only did the host yell at us, but he then proceeded to talk to other campers about his frustration with campers - singling us out. But ultimately, we felt bullied. If we wouldn't have had our niece with us and we were losing daylight - we would have left.
