What Guests Are Saying
Sherwood Campground offers a beautiful setting along the river with easy access to nearby trails and a pleasant atmosphere. Campsites are well-maintained, and the bathrooms are reasonably clean, making it suitable for short stays. While there were some issues with staff communication and limited privacy between sites, the overall experience is positive for those seeking a scenic camping getaway.

Beautiful area with a nice little hike to Tamanawas Falls nearby. Campsites were nicely spaced out and had plenty of shade from all the trees (they protected us from the rain too). I read somewhere that there was supposed to be a freshwater tap in camp, but we could not find one, so best bring your own water for drinking and cleaning purposes. It is worth mentioning the highway very close to out campsite (site 16). While you could hear cars and see headlights occasionally, it was not all night long and the creek does a pretty good job of adding some white noise to cancel out the sound of the road. Overall a great camping trip, I would go again.

We stayed at site 16. We were roughly 15-20’ from the highway. We heard trucks, cars, and semis all night long. There were points where it sounded like a helicopter was above us (because of how loud the logging trucks are). We also had headlights illuminating our tent all night. We didn’t have any neighbors, which was nice. No one stayed because of the noise/light at nighttime. There was a fire restriction when we stayed which limited what we could do. If I was just rating the camp host, he would receive 5/5 stars. He’s super nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. People also treat the field near the site like their off-leash dog park, despite there being multiple signs stating dogs most be leashed. I don’t think there’s a site in this campground that is far enough away from the highway to be enjoyable.

Nice Campground, though not a lot of privacy between sites. Several sites, including ours, are right next to the hwy and while the cars became white noise, it is hard to tune out the logging trucks which begin their hauls right around dawn. Road noise is minimized closer to the river. The host was terrific and he runs a tight ship. Bathrooms were well stocked and clean, garbage picked up regularly, rules were enforced, bear warnings given when necessary. We enjoyed his jokes, too!

There was a guest stranded in the space we had reserved but the camp host, Cliff, helped us find a first come first serve spot right on the creek. He was very helpful and we had V a great two night stay!
