What Guests Are Saying
Diamond Lake Campground offers a beautiful and scenic location with well-maintained facilities, including clean bathrooms and showers. Campers appreciate the spacious sites, picturesque views, and access to biking and water activities. Diamond Lake used to be a jewel. However, due to funding and staffing shortages the campground and facility have gone downhill. The bathrooms in our loop were closed. The bathrooms that were open rarely had TP. Forest Service workers were rarely around so there was little if any enforcement of basic rules (extra vehicles on site, multiple groups at one site, parking of roadway, etc.) Very disappointing...

Beautiful location, large camping spaces. Bathrooms were disgusting. The sink was clogged for a week as it slowly drained. The floors were filthy and toilet paper was randomly restocked. Horrible.

Overwhelming population of Mosquitos. Fishing was horrible.
They used to drive around and spray the campgrounds for mosquito control.( bring that back)
I saw people packing up and leaving because of the bugs.

The lake, the views and the recreational opportunities were all great, as usual. But the Forest Service has really dropped the ball on maintenance. It is contracted out to a private party but whoever is supposed to be monitoring the contractor has some work to do if basic standards are to be met. We were in Loop K. Only one potable water tap in the entire loop was working. The restrooms were filthy! The restrooms ran out of TP the first morning we arrived and were not refilled during the rest of our stay, (one additional day and night). This is inexcusable. Campers expect a basic level of hygienic standards to be maintained at federal campgrounds. If the Forest Service can't provide these services, then they need to post that clearly on the Recreation.gov website that campers must be prepared to provide their own toilet tissue. I have been camping at Diamond Lake since 1979. This is the first time that the facilities have disappointed me. Surely the Forest Service can do a simple job like refilling toilet paper rolls.

Takes 3-4 steep steps from end of driveway up to picnic table and fire ring. Could put tent in full sun up there or in the shade by your car. No lake view or breeze, but the bugs were just as bad as lakeside. Very close to water and restroom. No privacy inbetween highway and a loop intersection so cars were regularly stopping next to us. Diamond Lake is a 5 star, this spot is 3 star, we still had a great date at D8.

Had a great time but wish they would spray for mosquitoes. It would have been prefect if the mosquitoes weren’t so bad.

The sites were beautiful, spacious and relatively private. The hosts friendly and helpful. We loved our time and hated leaving. Definitely will be back!
