Our stay at Lake of The Woods was Horrible, they are having a high breakout of Caterpillars, they are coming out in droves, they are everywhere and in everything you cannot escape them, they are in all the trees and fall out of the trees on you. Thr Forest Rangers, Camp Host or owners of the Lodge and campgrounds are not warning you or posting any warnings of the Caterpillars and the Heath risk they are to you. People were breaking out with a Rash all over their body’s, it itches like crazy, no matter what you put on the rash it does not go away or stop itching, you have to get a prescription from your doctor but even when you do it’s a horrible rash that last up to 5 months it’s awful. If you have any heath issues Do not go camping at Lake of The Woods or anywhere in the Winema Forest's, It is so irresponsible of the Forest Ranges, owners of the lodge and campgrounds and the Camp Host for not warning anyone of the risk to your Heath. We had a 2 year old that broke out with hugh welts from Head to Toe, it was a nightmare.

Beautiful campground and lake. We camp there twice every year. The resort is also a great place for dining or an adult beverage.

Lake of the Woods In Oregon is a nice place to visit but even if you have a generator you better hope that if you need anything charged it dose not take over 3 hours to charge completely, because that is all you get to run your generator each day no matter what time it is. If you are going to camp there and you have an RV you will want one of the 6 camp sites that has electricity hook up otherwise camping there is a waste of time. It is to regulated as far as being able to run you generators.

From West Texas...Have stayed here in warm late Aug/September and now experienced in Late October 2025..I love it!! I think I prefer the Fall -October when it's cold. We missed the snow they had a few days prior to arrival and they are expecting snow on Saturday and we will miss it again. Love ♥️this place and folks- staff are awesome.... Cabins are great for us and Lake, restaurant... Everything! No complaints.!!!

We loved our experience at Sunset Lake of the woods campground. The camp host was really helpful, the bathroom was spotless and the campsite was large and well maintained. A easy path down by the lake took us to the nearby Lake of the woods resort where we had a delicious breakfast. We definitely would recommend this campground and plan on coming back.
