What Guests Are Saying
Haystack Campground offers a well-maintained and quiet environment, with friendly and attentive hosts who keep the facilities clean. Many visitors appreciated the ample camping space, beautiful views of Mt. Jefferson, and easy access to the reservoir for fishing and swimming. However, the campground is plagued by numerous mosquitoes, which can detract from the overall experience, especially during peak season.

We loved our camping experience. The campground was well taken care of & truly beautiful. We stayed for a whole weekend for a hiking trip we had planned to Smith Rock State Park (20min away & definitely worth seeing), and was honestly one of the better campgrounds we've stayed at for a while. Hands down definitely recommend camping here!

Haystack reservoir is a great place to fish and the camp sites weren't bad either. Spot 24 was right behind the camp hosts designated spot and had a very nice place to set up a tent within the trees. Plenty of shade and close to water access! The camp host Steve was extremely nice and we appreciated his help :)

I will not go back. The lake was so dirty, stinky and rocky that we couldn’t swim in it. There was 2 feet of moldy stinky seaweed on the shore. Most camp sites do not have a view of the lake, and they are challenging to park a trailer in with odd angles and uneven ground. The bathrooms are simply stinky outhouses with no showers. There is no playground or beach area for kids to play.

Gorgeous view of Mt. Jefferson. Very quiet place, millions of mosquitoes. The site is close to the toilet but no water in there.

We very much enjoyed our 2 nights with you! Peaceful and quiet, our dog Sam enjoyed swimming. Wish we had more time there.
