What Guests Are Saying

Haystack Campground offers a well-maintained and quiet environment, with friendly and attentive hosts who keep the facilities clean. Many visitors appreciated the ample camping space, beautiful views of Mt. Jefferson, and easy access to the reservoir for fishing and swimming. However, the campground is plagued by numerous mosquitoes, which can detract from the overall experience, especially during peak season.

the campground hosts were awesome but the water level not so much. We left early since it was a hassle to get kayaks in the water.

We really liked our site. Pretty flat for a van. Also liked that it was away from the water.

If you like off-grid camping, this is the place. Campsites are quiet, private, and provides a good views of the lake. Yes, the price is right at $23.00. If you have the America the Beautiful Military Pass, you get 50%. Enjoy your camping.

Really nice campground. Our site had a beautiful view. The hosts were great. Very informative about the area. Only thing I think that would make it better, if the campground could have a shower.

Way better than my expectation! Love their friendly host who delivers firewood to your campsite. The cleanest vault toilet. Spacious campsites. It seems like most of the sites have part of a shady area. But on hot and dry days, having a canopy is highly recommended. Shores are mostly rocky, except for a little bit of sandy beach at a boat ramp. Willing to visit again!

We stayed in spot 10 and had an excellent time! The spot was large, had good shade and great water access! Right next to the day use area but still felt private and far enough from other campers. Camp host was great! Paddling and swimming in the lake was nice.

Nice little campground. Be aware that photos online are not true to life, those that look like they may have flat paved driveways are actually sloped, so will need to work at leveling RVs. There are some pull through spots with nice level spaces. We stayed end of season, and unfortunately the resevoir was in the process of being drained for maintenance, so we did not have the lovely lakeside spot as anticipated. You may want to call ahead and check on the water conditions if that's important for you. But the grounds were nicely maintained and the camp host was very friendly and accomodating. Would definitely stay here again.
