What Guests Are Saying
Haystack Campground offers a well-maintained and quiet environment, with friendly and attentive hosts who keep the facilities clean. Many visitors appreciated the ample camping space, beautiful views of Mt. Jefferson, and easy access to the reservoir for fishing and swimming. However, the campground is plagued by numerous mosquitoes, which can detract from the overall experience, especially during peak season.

The camping spots and website doesn’t match up. The signage is not clear between the campground and day use. The camp spaces had a lot of small pieces of garbage all around. The primary restroom’s lock was broken. The camp host was awesome to talk with.

Most campsites seemed friendly to both tents and hammocks. Sung to sleep by coyotes.

Nice campground with friendly camp host, though some of the bathrooms were pretty bad. Filled with flies and smelly. The reservoir was okay to paddle on. There were a lot of birds and it was not very clean.

The campground was very well maintained and the pit toilets were not stinky at all. There was potable water on site and the camp host was very helpful. I am giving it 3 out of 5 stars only because of the Reservation.gov website. The description of site 24 showed a 100' driveway and level. The actual driveway length was 25' and sloped. My setup is 53' overall and I depend on reservations to garentee I'm able to set up for the night. Thankfully, the campsite host was able to place us in different spot since we were only stopping for the night.
Other than that it was a very positive 5 star experience.

Our camp host was awesome. the size of the sites and how level they are could be re evaluated. We made do. could use better signage for direction to enter sites with large units. other wise, great camp.
