Driftwood campground offers great access to the dunes and features friendly and helpful camp hosts, enhancing the overall experience for visitors. While the campground is popular and well-loved by many for its atmosphere and recreational opportunities, some reviews highlight concerns about maintenance, particularly regarding bathroom facilities and limited shower hours. Mid week was pretty quite as Dunefest had been the weekend before our stay.
Never saw the camp hosts out and about and wondered about bathroom cleaning?? I did check in with a lady when we arrived at her site.
Last year I got a crew of guys together after they saw me shoveling to move the sand off the walkway to the bathroom and along the curbs. Sites are looking pretty warn out but we did notice new firepits that look safer to use. But the old ones have been dumped at the end of the campground. Is there a plan for them?
I have been concerned about the lack of phone (cell) service here!! I have complained many times. If someone gets hutrt and we need to call for medical help, phone service is very unreliable. Any plans to install a tower to help with service for safety out here>
We are 78 and 82 and I clean the beach for 7 miles for SOLVE and I complete a run and made a report on our visit.
We do enjoy this area.

Always a great time staying in Driftwood. 40th year coming here! Stay was two weeks. Never interacted with a camp host and the facilities are not cleaned and santized as they have been in the past. One of our group chased off an undesirable walking in between our trailers and vehicles @ 3:30AM on the first night. Other than that, a great stay as usual. We will be back!

Haves stayed at driftwood many times and this time was horrible!! Camp host was off duty or not around all 5 days. Campground was a free for all of racing in the road and crap everywhere. Bathrooms were filthy and disgusting

Shower hrs were confusing and not cleaned well if at all. Didn’t know how to get tokens for the showers, the token box was out of order then we found some in a dish on 1 of the camp hosts fence posts. Never saw the camp host/hosts and I think there were 2. Bathrooms were not cleaned regularly either it appears. Camp spots need site numbers and lines repainted they look like they did it before but you can still read numbers twice and that seemed to cause some confusion for some. Lots of debris was in all the sites such as nuts, screws and other left behind garbage.
