Eel Creek Campground

We love camping at Eel Creek. Our last visit had a vehicle in our spot. After waiting and looking for the person we left to return our trailer to its storage (1/2) hr.) before closing. The camp host was off duty each time we checked. We could not gain access to our reservation. The 1st two times, the men's bathroom was out of order and we had to drive to the restroom. Have tried to contact both by phone and online and problems everywhere.

Our group was looking for some beach camping and running out of luck finding open sites. Most campsites in the dunes area are geared toward those visiting to do off road recreational vehicle activities and those campsites tend to be loud. We had two toddlers under 3, so that didn't sound very appealing. This campground is an excellent compromise. There were some people there for off roading, but most of the people there seemed to just be there to camp. Our campsite was clean and down below the road, so at night it was protected from the wind (site 4). There is an internal trail system from site to site that makes it easy to get to the restrooms, just make sure you have a light of some kind if you are going in the dark. We all had cell service but it was very weak. Also, this campsite connects to the John Dallenback (sp?) Dunes Trail, which, if you haven't done, is an amazing experience! Make sure you bring more water than you would on a non-dune 5 mile hike, the exposure on the dunes makes for thirsty walking!

Loved our weekend here. We were in Spaces 5 and 6 which gave us a lot of room - three large tents, two dining canopies, lots of room to spare. Campground host was very friendly. The campground was family and dog friendly, decently quiet and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained.

I loved this campground! I love the easy access to the dunes from our campsite and how private the site was and away from other people and the road we were. I would definitely stay here again.

We brought our own potty but was very surprised and impressed how clean the bathrooms were so we didn't even use ours.

Love these camp sites. Deceptively spacious and lots of privacy. We ended up going to lake Marie for a nice swim with the kids during our weekend. The older kids hiked up to the dunes right from our camp site and tools us it was incredible. Will definitely be back

I really like the location and the fact that motor vehicles weren't allowed inside the dunes in that area. So it was relatively quiet and nice (if that's what you are looking for). The host didn't impress at all. All reserved signed were at least one week out of date, no firewood for purchase. But other than that, that was a decent camp for those who would like to explore Oregon dunes by foot.

I was disappointed with the fact that there were no COVID restrictions/rules. The restrooms should have signs requiring masks (since it is a shared indoor space). Lots of out of state and big groups thus so much more risk.
Droplet and some airborne precautions needed. Seems like the host and/or community did not grasp this. May need education. Loud group was next to us but settled down some time after midnight. Restrooms were clean.
