1st time here and was really impressed. Nice location, large camping sites. Bathrooms with showers were clean and well maintained. I plan on coming back next year!

Stayed a week for our annual family camping vacation, due to the closure of Loon Lake last summer. We really lucked out with the weather. Had a couple nights where it was too windy to have a fire, but all in all nice weather. The restrooms are flush and well kept. No ATV running in this campground, and campers were respectful in respect to noise. There is a two miles or path to the ocean. Takes about 4+ hours round trip with limited stay at the beach, as the trail is all dunes.

Family oriented campground, not much separation between spaces. Huge sand mountain behind campground, but trail has wooden steps if they aren't drifted full of sand. Long, long hike to the ocean from the top.

This is now our favorite campground! We found it by accident while looking for any open campground the Fourth of July. This quickly became our new favorite place to camp and we came back in August! We love Eel Creek and will be returning this summer!

We love Eel Creek campground! This was our second time staying. All the campsites are wonderful. The bathrooms are always clean. Our camp host was very friendly. And the proximity to the sand dunes is wonderful!!

nice, quiet (time of year), secluded. Dunes directly behind campsite, 50 yards up the hill/dune.

I hope there can be more monitoring of Eel Creek Campground my federal employees as we had some incidents of non campers going through the garbage cans and stopping to talk to our near by campers with almost threatening requests of firewood and other items. Please take this into consideration and monitor this Campground better in the future. Thank you

{"text"=>"This is a beautiful little campground. Everything is well groomed and the bushes look like they have all been trimmed up. Very quiet (during the week, don't know about week-ends), and you hear no road noise from Hwy 101. This is a great location to venture out from. A trip to Coos Bay and a cruise down Cape Arago Highway is not that far away. Just outside the entrance and about a quarter of a mile down the road is a Dollar General. Outside of the Dollar General store you have to drive into Coos Bay or Reedsport to do any shopping.\n\nReserve America does a great job in showing pictures of each of the sites. Getting in and out of here with a big rig is not a problem. Very high clearances, but be aware of which site you choose. Some won’t work for bigger rigs. For those of you with solar panels be aware that not all of the sites are sunny.\n\nI would avoid at all cost site #44. It looks like the sand dune behind the campground has completely taken over this site.\n\nThe Geo coorindinates for the entrance is:\n46.587047, -124.184396\n\nNow there are a few negative things to report. One is the water situation here. This campground has been without water for some time now, so the bathrooms are closed and portable toilets have been put up. If you are a fully self contained RV camper this won’t be a problem. There is a state park about a mile north of this place that provides water and a dump station at no charge, so it is easy to fill up there before coming into the campground.\n\nThe pavement is sinking in places. The dips can be hard to see, so drive very slowly, otherwise you might get a good jolt.\n\nA great place to camp. Cozy and quiet.", "languageCode"=>"en"}

This campground is located in close proximity to multiple lakes and wetlands. Due to this, there can be an abundance of mosquitoes between the months of April and August. Please be prepared for this. |
