Everything was great except the fact that the camp host can’t help with the reservations

A beautiful campground along the Siltcoos River; especially nice if you get a spot on the river side. We were there midweek in mid Sept and there was almost no one there. I was able to put my kayak in/out by the trail along the river and go out to the ocean. Lots of pelicans, osprey, herons and king fishers. We saw a couple of otters on our hike to the beach. Also lots of huckleberries.
Decent rest rooms. Lots of water spigots, though the one closest to us didn't work. We didn't have to go far to one that did.

Camp host was very helpful. Other visitors were compatible. Nice quiet few days. River was beautiful.
Not sure why we have to register on line for campgrounds. Seems easier to do it the way we used to. Im quite old and I know things change, so I guess that is why. And actually, when we called the number we got everything we needed without wasting time. Thank you for that. The people who helped us at the reservation site were very patient and helpful.

Beautiful camping area. Could use some funding or further maintenance. The sinks werent working and many of the camping tables were on their last legs. But Id definitely recommend it.

Bathrooms were clean. The showers are located at a nearby campsite and were available from 8am - 2pm. It’s a 1 mile walk to a very quiet beach. It was really quiet at night. We could see the stars every night. Most sites were fairly private.

We have stayed at Waxmrytle Campground for the last 4 years. We always have a wonderful time. There is potable water and flushing toilets. We plan on going again next year.

I love this place, my kids and I go every year. Discovered it by accident, but it's a quite tucked away place right up from the beach and LOTS of things to do close by. Don't forget there are showers at Drift Wood 2!

There is a 14-day in 30 rolling days camping limit on the Siuslaw National Forest. The 14 days does not have to be consecutive. The 14-day limit covers the entire Siuslaw National Forest and not just this campground as shown in the Rules Section. This means you cannot go to other campgrounds on the Siuslaw National Forest after reaching the 14-day limit. |
