What Guests Are Saying

Susan Creek Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, spacious campsites, and excellent access to the Umpqua River for various outdoor activities. However, there were concerns about recent health issues related to water contamination and the absence of firewood sales, which disappointed some campers.

Good to hear the river. Very clean campground. Need to fix the hand dryer in the restroom. Some trails are still closed from fire damage.

This is a nice, quiet campground with very clean bathrooms, which have flush toilets and showers. Camp host was friendly, and other campers were respectful of each other and quiet. We were there on weeknights, so I'm not sure what it's like on weekends. A few of the tent campsites along the river are a little close for comfort, and did not offer adequate privacy, but had the best views of the river and beautiful sounds of rushing water. Wood was not available for sale when we were there. The only frustrating thing about our stay was that we wanted to switch camp sites when we arrived to a more private spot. Even though other sites were free and not reserved, we couldn't get help from the Recreation.gov toll-free number, nor the host, who didn't have the most up-to-date reservation list.

Our campsite was an excellent location, close to the bathrooms and close to river access. A pleasant hike to Susan Creek Falls is a must, and there are more hikes further up the highway.

The maintenance has declined in the past two years. It is a shame that this facility has been left uncared for the last two years. Previously it was impeccably cared for and a real special place. It could be again with full time attendants who worked. This is too special of a place to let go to waste.
