What Guests Are Saying
Susan Creek Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, spacious campsites, and excellent access to the Umpqua River for various outdoor activities. However, there were concerns about recent health issues related to water contamination and the absence of firewood sales, which disappointed some campers.

This campground was recently rebuilt after the fires of a few years ago. Some of the best showers ever at any, state or private also, campground. Beautiful setting with level and pretty spacious sites. Would come back and stay after being there only one night enroute to Crater Lake and Newberry Crater adventures.

Site 5 has a great view looking up the river even with a bench to sit upon and relax. . It is a very small site though with barely enough room for a 8x10 tent and it looks into the site next to it which didnβt bother me but might bother others. It has partial shade, not full shade, but with enough shade to always find a shady spot. The campground was incredibly clean, has private showers, flush toilets, and lots of water spouts throughout the campground. There wasnβt a path directly from this site down to the river but there are several paths to the river throughout the campground. It was also very quiet at night even though the campground was completely full. The campground is in old growth forest that wasnβt burnt. I highly recommend this campground. My personal preference would be campsite 3 or 4 which are bigger and have more privacy but also no way down to the river.

We had a lovely experience at Susan Creek Campground. The bathrooms were very clean, and the campground was well maintained. Our camp hosts were helpful and and deserve kudos for such a great job. We have visited many campgrounds in Oregon, and these camp hosts were exceptional. We hope to see them next year.
