Susan Creek Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, spacious campsites, and excellent access to the Umpqua River for various outdoor activities. However, there were concerns about recent health issues related to water contamination and the absence of firewood sales, which disappointed some campers.

We loved camping here! We had a spot overlooking the river. It was beautiful and peaceful. The showers were still closed due to COVID but overall, clean campsite. You are pretty close to people but everyone was nice and respectful.

Most sites are relatively small, but the campground and bathrooms were wonderfully maintained, and the hosts helpful and friendly. Amazingly, the September 2020 fire leaped across the roadway, but stopped short of the campground. Within reach of several falls, Diamond Lake, and local stores. Just so peaceful and beautiful!

Campground bathroom was clean and grounds maintained nicely by campground hosts. Glad to see that the Archie fire did not affect the camping experience (even though there is wildfire effects immediately adjacent). Trail to dayuse area is great. Watch out for poison oak and disappointed that Susan Creek Falls trail will be closed this season due to wildfire damage. Still lots of other areas to visit.

We were in site #2. It was a great site, easy to back our camper in to. It was a little closer than we expected to site #3 and the trail, but still ok and manageable with the pandemic. The hosts were very nice and the bathrooms were clean. Susan Creek Falls and Fall Creek Falls were impacted by the fires, and not very safe to navigate with children. There are other waterfalls around the area and it was still a nice little getaway. We would go again. You can google Thundering Waters Brochure for information on other waterfalls/trails in the area.

This is definitely in our top 5 spots in Oregon. The CG is well situated alongside the river, with many sites directly overlooking the river. The sites are good sized, not too close together. The facilities are well maintained, and the CG hosts take pride in the condition of everything. We are so grateful that it wasn't destroyed in the fire last year, it came so very close.

It is always a pleasure to stay at Susan Creek Campground. The sites are neat and tidy upon arrival and the facilities are kept clean due to the extra care from the campground hosts, Marty and Craig. The sites are well spaced with a nice buffer of trees and flora between them. There are easy beautiful hiking trails along the Umpqua River that take you down to the day use area that is across from the trail back to Susan Creek Falls. Unfortunately the trail back to the falls is currently closed due to last season’s fire damage. This campground is a good place to stay for day trips to other falls in the area or even to Diamond Lake.
