We love Lower Bridge Campground. We stayed in campsite #1 this time. Not much room for your vehicle. But, magnificent view of the Metolius River! We're eager to return. This was probably our 10th visit to Lower Bridge Campground over the years. Outstanding!

Great as always. The only thing that has not been resolved is the poor condition of the table. Some jerk put a flaming hot pan on the table and burned a big black hole. Previously I complained about other damage to the tabletop, It was resolved by moving the portion with the hole to a seating area,

Stayed in #4. Length to spare for my 23’ trailer and 17’ vehicle. One tree prevents use of awning but dense forest canopy provided all day shade. Forest canopy shades and limits solar to less than 50% and for portable solar you will need a 60-75’ cable. River bank gets full afternoon sun. Multiple trees accommodate hammocks with 1 location near river. Also, a nice grassy spot by water to sit in chairs and relax. Great location to get away from the cellular umbilical cord; but if need to checkin, just drive up NF-1490 1-2 miles for 2 bars LTE on Verizon enough to make calls and send/receive data.

The river and campground were beautiful as always.
I have been camping on the Metolius (various campgrounds) for 50 plus years and have seen some ups and downs. It seems to me the current 'down' is people making reservations and not showing up. I have never seen Lower Bridge so empty during my week there. There was plenty of people driving thru looking to find a spot but they were posted as reserved....
There are many hikes along the river and beyond for all ages and abilities. My favorite is from Lower Bridge to Candle Creek on the west side.

We come to Lower Bridge Campground every year, usually towards the end of July. It's a family event, with folks coming from California and Washington. As Oregonians, we coordinate the details. Once again this year, we had a wonderful time. It is so very special to be with family along the Metolius River. We feel very pleased that the Lower Bridge Campground is so well cared-for. It's a very special place. We're already looking forward to next year's... camping along the Metolius.
