I altered the reservation arriving two days later than I had anticipated. I got an email from the website acknowledging the change. But when I arrived the site was not reserved, another RV was present and we had to go and find a site in a remote location with no toilets down the road. Roads in this state parks were awful, full of washboards and rutted.

Reservation system is a pain in @$$. Have not met one person in all the years of this systems implementation that likes it. At least half of the reserved sites went unoccupied. We had to move 3 times in 5 nights to a first come first serve site. Camp host was missing for first 2 nights. Water has been shut off for 2 straight years at Lower Bridge. You closed nearby campgrounds early so finding water took a round trip drive of 18 miles. So many people wanting to camp but no spots available. Seems like system is run for company execs not the public who owns the land. You need to reconsider how you manage "our lands".

We had the most relaxing few days at lower bridge campground. Great campsites right on the river. Although on line suggested the campground was full, it wasn’t. The camp host, Mark, came by several times to check on us and he was extremely pleasant. Easy fishing, close to home what more could we want!

No shows are an ongoing problem in many campsites.
Making reservations is one thing, but real time information is absent when it comes to occupying campsites. We are extremely frustrated with seeing so many sites not being used and left unoccupied during the dates present. We are retired and miss being able to pull up and camp.
The rules need to change. These programs are run like a hotel until you arrive and then its like OH Well, sorry, no first come serve sites available although 25% of the sites are empty.
I strongly suggest that 25% of the sites remain FF all year with physical presence a requirement.
Willamette forest is a much better option at this point.

Campground well maintained. Campers quiet. But there is no underbrush, so little privacy between campsites. And more importantly, it was mid August and the water was turned off for some reason.

Great quiet campground along the Metolius River. Nice hiker trail heading downstream for about 1 1/2 miles. Pit toilets were pretty ripe.

We love this place! It's quiet and out of the way. However, the amenities are limited to outhouses and water spigots so it's not for everyone.

We were in campsite #7. In the evening we could smell fumes from the toilets.
