About Pioneer Ford Campground

Pioneer Ford is one of the most popular of the campgrounds in the area since many of the sites are well suited to RVs and most of the sites are mostly private, shaded amongst a mixture of pine and cedar trees. As you travel north away from the first in a series of Metolius-area campgrounds and Camp Sherman, the facilities become more and more isolated which is why Pioneer Ford can be so quiet. Located on the Metolius River, this campground provides access to fishing and hiking trails.

What Guests Are Saying

Pioneer Ford Campground is a beautiful, peaceful site with great river access, clean facilities, and respectful guests. Campers appreciate the large, private sites, gorgeous hiking trails, and the serene atmosphere, especially mid-week. While there are occasional issues with water availability and privacy between sites, the friendly camp host and natural surroundings make it a favorite destination for relaxation and fishing.

The Metolius River is absolutely pristine, the sound of the River at night, well that’s just priceless. We saw all kinds of wildlife, including flower's and a bunny visited us every morning. We 100% will return.

The river is gorgeous, the campsites clean. People were respectful about keeping dogs on leash.
I hope to go back next year!

I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet and peaceful this CG was. But the real surprise was the available water. Everything I read online said there was no potable water available but instead of having to rely on my 3 gal water container, I had fresh water.

Quiet campsite #8. The tent only sites could use a little more screening from each other. We pulled out early due to the crying babies in the middle of the night next door and the joggers running through our campsite during the day and evening.
