What Guests Are Saying
Pioneer Ford Campground is a beautiful, peaceful site with great river access, clean facilities, and respectful guests. Campers appreciate the large, private sites, gorgeous hiking trails, and the serene atmosphere, especially mid-week. While there are occasional issues with water availability and privacy between sites, the friendly camp host and natural surroundings make it a favorite destination for relaxation and fishing.

The camp host was excellent, restroom was clean.
Make sure to visit the Camp Sherman store for a great deli sandwich or hamburger. They have everything you need.
A must see is the Wizard Falls Trout Hatchery -

The camp host, Emily, was just great. I forgot my camp chair, so she loaned me hers! She was friendly with everyone in spite of being quite busy.

Nice campground, vault toilets fairly clean but did have a strong odor. Water available. Lots to do in this area, hiking is great. Was there early June, no mosquitos! Nice shaded fairly private sites right on the river, many pull through sites as well.

We have been camping at Pioneer Ford many times. It is still just a beautiful as ever. What made this particular trip stand out was the campground host. She had the campground running in tip top shape and was dealing with the number of reservation no-shows, that take sites away from people that truley want to camp, in a very efficient and fair manner. We need more hosts like this.

Great camp host. Great weather. Great time. Only issue occurred on the final night, a Saturday, when a group of young folks decided to party until late.

My reserved site was taken by someone because they had thought it was not reserved- because the little sign at the front of the site was indeed lacking my reservation.
The camp host- who I never could find in 2 days of knocking and leaving a note- failed to place my reservation on the site sign.
Poorly managed- site looked great from the road.
Other sites seemed to have holes in the week’s reservations also.

My favorite campground on the Metolius. Great sites for tent/car camping and great sites for motorhomes and trailers. Fishing access is terrific.
