This campground is our family's favorite. We have been coming here for almost 35 years, every July.
The past 2 years, the outhouses were full when we got there. The waste was up to the bottom of the base of the toilet!
We mentioned it to our camp host and then to his supervisor who both told us it was too expensive to have them pumped out!
Isn't that what our camp fees go towards????
July is just beginning the camping season for this campground, I hate to think about what the outhouses look like now! :(

Had a great time. Weather was a little windy but the lake was beautiful. Every Thursday night in the summer, there is a free concert on the grass at Suttle Lake Lodge. It's awesome! The walk around the lake is 3.5 miles and is a great way to start the day.

Three of us got stung by wasps in our campsite. We had to buy traps just to be able to leave our tent without getting stung.

Horrible site, do not book this. It is deceiving, no trees or shade, weirdly shaped small site that looks like a barren after thought shoved next to the road and other sites, completely out in the open with zero privacy. Seems like the was created to make an extra buck ..... we drove up took one look and left to another campground at Camp Sherman which was lovely and shaded. I am a rustic camper do not require much, am typically not that picky and have stayed in campgrounds all over Oregon my entire life and have never seen a campsite as bad as this. They should do everyone a favour and take the number off and remove the picnic table and you would never even know it was a "campsite"it would look like part of the side of the road. Now Ive told you what I really think. I never write reviews but this really bothered me. When we could not find it because it is an after thought and numbered strangely the dude cleaning the bathroom made a strange face when we told him the number and could not find it... I got worried right then and there because he looked like he was apologising in advance and sure enough it was as bad as his face made it out to be. I just can't say enough bad things about it. The picture is incredibly deceiving. So yeah, don't do it unless you like paying the same rate for a campsite that is actually nice and acceptable and being stuck literally on the side of the road out in the open baking in the sun like a lizard. It was so disturbing I could not even do what it took to get my money back, I just ate it because I did not want to think about it or deal with it because it would have ruined my vacation.
