Well, it was very quiet, and of course, primitive. We had a very pleasant stay both times, and I will certainly stay there again.

So very relaxing and quiet! Been coming for over 40 yrs and I must say the past several years have been the best with the Rangers being awesome. The campground is very well maintained and it now has a more family atmosphere. Looking forward to next years adventures at Nancy's!

Always a good place to chill! It seems being boat access only, helps to keep it not as full which is very nice! I look forward to all the new trees growing as there isn't much in the way of shade for most of the sites. Seems to be well kept after which is nice!

Nancy’s boat to shore is a beautiful place to go but I was disappointed to find that the grass was tall
and had not been mowed this surprised me because we reserved right after the Labor Day holiday. They did come to mow but we had to move our camping stuff so they could mow. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom to the right and no hand sanitizer in both bathrooms. It’s no fun when you already started going only to reach in and nothing is there.

Plus side. Wonderful views and an excellent location on the lake. Negitive. Rustic bathrooms are fine. But, to be there for four days and not have one cleaning service, is not a good way to get a positive review. Bathroom accommodations were horrible! Been here many times. This time ruined our trip. Not going back.

I saw it said “boat in” but if I was never taught what that was how was I supposed to clearly know. After driving 2 hours we were stranded and no hotels would accept us due to it going on 2am before we could figure out what to do. We eventually found a campground that would let us stay after so late. But the experience was AWFUL. It should make you CONFIRM that you’re sure you’d like a boat in camping spot with an explanation of what “boat in” means before allowing a person to book it. I assume we aren’t the only ones to experience this. If it said “boat access only” or “no vehicle entrance, boat only” that would have been a clear explanation. Of course I also couldn’t get my money back. I later found out by researching what it meant. If it states it somewhere in there description it’s really small and easy to miss. So be sure you have a way to ride a boat there if you camp here!

When parking the trailer, people on either side of my truck were out of their parking spaces which made us center over the line. We got a ticket for not parking correctly. The others did not. But the cam site was to be expected and the wardens were pleasant to talk to when checking on the sites.

I canoed in from James Creek Boat Launch with two canoes and two teenage grandchildren. We did it old school. The trip was about 1.5 miles. We appreciated the no wake area and wish there was one at Nancy's. I took Boy Scout Troop 42 from Tomstown, Pa there 40 years ago. There was a sandy beach at that time, and I don't remember having to bring water. A good time was had by all, and the weather was perfect. During the week Nancy's is not very busy. There were only five sites occupied.
Sincerely,
Bernie Frank

Be prepared to anchor your boat away from the docking area. The water was really rough because the is not a no wake zone for this camping site. Our boat took a good beating the first night there. The bathrooms were actually pretty nice for outhouse type. Well stocked and maintained, however it was a bit of a walk from the one side of the camp. It’s a lot of work hauling all your stuff including firewood. I’m not sure I would want to do it again.
