What Guests Are Saying

Kittatinny River Beach Campground offers a convenient location by the Delaware River, making it ideal for water activities. Visitors appreciate the hardworking staff who maintain clean bathrooms, although noise from the nearby highway and lack of enforced rules can detract from the experience. While some guests have had positive interactions with staff, inconsistent customer service and unclear policies regarding rafting rentals have led to mixed feelings about future visits.

We were checking out very early, this was a quick overnight. The water spicket wouldn't shut off after we disconnected. It was pitch black, there was no lighting. It was very hard to get out. No staff was available to assist with the water. I had to leave a voice mail and go.

Stayed here with friends for the Labor Day weekend. where to begin? First of all, the location of this campground is terrible. It’s right on the highway and all you hear 24/7 are trucks j-breaking and cars honking. Additionally, none of the campground rules are enforced. It’s one thing to play music during the day or evening, but totally unnecessary for there to be extremely loud music and karaoke playing all night. Not to mention the explosive fireworks and just general refugee camp style of tent camping going on here- literally 6 or 7 tents per some sites with almost just as many vehicles. Totally cramped and loud. The only redeeming quality of this campground was the staff, who all worked so hard to keep the bathrooms and amenities clean for guests. I wouldn’t recommend this campground unless you stay for a night or so to for water activities on the Delaware Water Gap (for the convenience). Other than that not worth it. Again, thanks to the staff for going above and beyond to keep the bathrooms clean.

If you want a quiet campground to disconnect and enjoy nature, DO NOT GO HERE. I saw the reviews about the highway noise and people playing loud music and thought that won't be a problem but it was. The campground is close to the highway so you hear loud trucks all night. There are rules about not playing music past 10pm but no one enforces it. People being loud and playing music until 2am. When I brought this up to the staff, the response was that I should have called the cops. On top of it, the water view sites are not as they advertise. You don't get the view of the river like they promised. For $130 for one very loud and exhausting night, it's not worth it.

Love the location of this campground as it is right on the Delaware River. Good PX and very nice staff. Good bathrooms but on busy holiday weekends people take 15 plus minutes in a public shower where there is a long line. It might be helpful to post signs advising a time limit on use of showers. Either that or install coin operated ones that shut off after 5 minutes. Would also help to manage that resource. Otherwise, had a great stay and look forward to my 3rd year next year.

Rafting Trip Review

Be prepared: You will likely pay well over $400 for one raft holding six people for a 3–4 hour trip. Whether your group is all adults or a mix of adults and children, you will still only receive one raft unless you pay additional fees.

If you are booking for 6 people and want more than 1 raft, book separate reservations (minimum 3 to a raft).
The policy assumes six adults can fit comfortably in one raft — something not clearly stated online, where it only notes a minimum of three people. In past years, I’ve always been able to request two rafts, but as of this year, they will no longer accommodate that request. I wish this change had been made clear during the booking process.

When I called to request two rafts (as I have many times before), I spoke with a supervisor named Chris. Unfortunately, Chris was rude, condescending, and dismissive. He was short with me, referenced another customer’s spending inappropriately, and displayed neither the calmness nor professionalism expected from someone in a supervisory role.

I ended up paying an extra $36 to secure two rafts. When I later called to get an email confirmation, I spoke with Carol. She was a breath of fresh air — pleasant, empathetic, and professional. Carol took the time to apologize for how I had been spoken to, clearly explained how the rafts are set up, and confirmed the recent change in policy. She also avoided making unnecessary suggestions (such as removing coolers to make space) and truly represented what good customer service should be.

This experience has unfortunately left me with a negative impression of this location. While I appreciate Carol’s professionalism and hope for a smooth on-site experience, I will likely look elsewhere for future trips — and recommend others do the same unless policies and customer service improve.
