East Branch Campground

Only got to stay one night because my sister in law passed away and I had to go home. Knew that was a possibility when I came, but had a great time while I was there.

Very nice campground, wonderful views and some easy fun trails.

Park Rangers to Camp Host were very friendly and very quick to answer any questions you had. It was my first time at a COE Campground, I was pleasantly surprised when they came to speak to our our camp group directly (The Butterflies). I liked the info on water safety (some of which I did not know) and about the dam and surrounding town. Thank You East Branch Volunteers and Employees. I am planning another trip back next year!

The campsite and bathrooms were very nice in this park. Those I would give high ratings. But my camping experience was ruined by the shoddy, unsafe workmanship of their speed bump which caused me to fall and sustain a concussion, bruises and cuts. I left the park early to head for an emergency room. The construction of the speed bump did not take into account where people would be walking. It included a cable which stretched about 4 or 5 ft from the rubber pieces making up the speed bump to a nearby fence. That cable was stretched about an inch or 2 above the ground where walkers would be going. The cable’s color blended in with the ground and was not obvious. There were no reflectors, reflecting tape or paint or barriers indicating that the cable was there. I did not see the cable and caught my toe on it falling face first. After I fell I found that another camper had fallen in the same place the previous night. The workers who installed this speed bump were not concerned about people’s safety. They were only interested in slowing down cars. The speed bump needs to be reconstructed in an appropriate manner so that it is safe for walkers.

What a great campground, I stayed in site #2 with a minivan and trailer. The site itself was level and clean. The facilities were all so clean and the rangers and camp hosts were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely stay again!

A friend and I stayed in a cute little cabin at East Branch Lake over Labor Day weekend. While it is very simple and spare, it gives you shelter and security; you can arrive at any time because you’re coming in with a key code, and it gives you a beautiful view of the lake through the trees and easy access to the water. I would recommend it highly!

We love East Branch. Very Small campground but we really enjoy it. Wish they were open in October

Nice quiet campground.

Very quite only problem was lack of potable water. You were able to shower in it but no drinking water
