What Guests Are Saying
East Branch Campground offers a peaceful and clean environment, perfect for relaxation and enjoying nature, with stunning views and a large lake for boating and fishing. Visitors appreciate the campground's remote location, friendly staff, and engaging activities for families, such as the exploratory building run by knowledgeable Army Corps workers. While some amenities, like a playground and improved dump station access, could be enhanced, many campers express their intention to return for another restful stay.

Road in campground needs to be one way. And its not very wide to even turn the bends

Site #20 is good but power post should be located on opposite end of site.

The campground was difficult to find, we passed it several times and ended up going down the long very sharp curved road to the boat dock, with camper it tow! We scraped bottom of the camper on the last curve getting back out of there. There was no one at the park office and no one would answer the phone. We made one more trip past the park office and saw a car going up a hill between trees, and followed it as a last resort! And found the camp ground. The whole thing could have been corrected if there was and arrow pointing the way, it does not look like an entrance to a campground! It was difficult filling our water tank while sitting up hill. Our site was difficult to back into. We met our host's Peggy and Randy at the water source, thankfully they had a long hose to fill us back up after we lost all our water the first night. We were disappointed we couldn't fish from shore anywhere on the lake as we didn't have a boat. Other than that we liked the campground, the spots are spacious for the most part. Nice shower house with flush toilets. Our host's were very helpful, beautiful area. Also disappointed the road to the top of the dam was closed, to long of a walk for us to enjoy. Also Peggy told us if there is a car at the park office the lady is in there and you have to knock on the door ( she keeps it locked) that also would have been helpful, if there was a sign to knock! It is nice the park has ramps everywhere for handicap access. Nice for peace and quiet, during the week at least.

The staff was professional and courteous - the sight was clean, level with a fire ring and table. The restroom and shower were clean.
The only con was there was no sign indicating the direction to the camping area - only a sign that read "Campsite". With no direction (a left turn at the sign was required), we drove down to the boat ramp - nowhere near the entrance to the campsite - a fisherman knew we overshoot the entrance and directed us to the entrance. A simply painted arrow on the campground sign would be a nice touch.

Clean facilities, plenty of tables and fire pits and tent pads, my only issue was trying to find my campsite in the dark because it was not marked on the road like the rest of the campgrounds (#24). Overall a very nice spot, I would go back if I was in the area!

Camp ground has a lot of potential, pavement needs redone , they need some type of playground area for kids because they get bored very easily. The dam was a nice place for swimming and boating. The dump station was east to get at and the campground was clean . Just needs more to keep kids entertained .
