Longleaf Campground offers a clean, spacious, and peaceful environment with well-maintained facilities and friendly staff. Visitors appreciate the short walk to the visitor center for amenities and the charming wildlife experience, including birds and other animals. However, it's important to note that there is no running water at the campground, and some sites may lack privacy due to proximity to others.

It was such a great experience for first time campers. Easy set up and close to car so you can go back and forth with your gear. Loved it!

It was fine. Short walk from parking lot. Close to neighbors. Didn’t really like no check in, no camp host or anything

Well maintained. I was surprised how empty it was, I highly recommend you go whether or not you camp. If you do camp, it’s a great, quiet spot. Plentiful amenities, this website has all correct information on Longleaf’s attributes. The short walk from the parking lot to your site is so easy and pleasant, yet, it scares off the nature adverse and those insensitive to their environment. No generators either.

Peaceful camping in a beautiful environment!
Comfortable to hang out and few bugs.

At Longleaf Campground, there are 12 primitive tent sites lined up along one side of a little meadow/tree stand, and 4 group sites lined up parallel along the other side. We stayed in tent site #10, which was maybe 100 yards from the parking lot/pit toilets (site #1 is closest, and site #12 is farthest away). Site #10 was located behind #9, but nobody was camping there which made our experience feel nice and fairly (but not completely) private. There was noise from the group sites one night, but otherwise this nice-sized campground was really peaceful, shaded, and beautiful beneath the pines. April is a gorgeous time to go!

We had a phenomenal time! The campsite included a flat spot to pitch a tent, a fire ring, a picnic table, and a pole with hooks to hang things on, such as a lantern. The campground is a short hike from the visitor's center and the entrance to the boardwalk trail. We will be back!
