Access to the south boat ramp and the Flume Trailhead from within the campground and easy access to the South Beach Area, this recreational complex has everything needed for a fun, family camping experience.

This CG/lake is a favorite of ours since it's close to Rapid City and easy to get to. Very serene and peaceful - yet easy access to the Black Hills attractions. It offers a bit of everything - boating/fishing, off-roading, swimming, sight-seeing, etc.

The lake never disappoints. Beware you will now be charged $5 a day for your second vehicle EVEN if you paid for your site 6 months ago! I guess you can change the rules after someone pays and say it was an error on the website. Not good business. What ever happened to looking out and caring for the campers? I guess those days are gone. Sad.

The campsite was awesome but we got additional charges over the reservation. When we booked the reservation nowhere did it say there was going to be additional fees for another car. It asked how many cars I put into and then got there and had to pay more for the second vehicle because they count camper as a vehicle. I feel it’s deceptive and they are pocketing the additional $5 a day up charge. Camping is expensive enough as it is. I had two spots so we ended up paying quite a bit more.

From Rapid City, take Highway 16 for 18 mi west to Three Forks. Turn right (north) on Highway 385 and travel 2 mi to Calument Road at the inlet. Turn right and travel 1 mi to the campground.

Sheridan Lake is accessible via Highway 16, which connects to Rapid City, and Highway 385, which provides access from Highway 16 to the campground.

  • These campsites are non-electric sites. Generators may run only.
  • Non-reservable sites may be available on a first come, first served basis
  • Prevent the spread of invasive species by inspecting and cleaning packs, equipment, and tires before using lake or trails
  • A pet fee of $2 per pet per night is required upon check-in

  • Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
  • The Senior and Access discounts are only honored for the site that houses the card holder. If multiple sites are reserved on one card, the rest of the camping fee will be collected upon arrival unless another card holder occupies the site.
