What Guests Are Saying
Sheridan Lake offers great tent and RV camping with spacious, shaded sites and a beautiful lakeside location, perfect for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The clean facilities and friendly hosts enhance the overall experience, despite some concerns about limited infrastructure and cellular service. While some campers noted noise from generators and construction, many found the setting peaceful and enjoyable, making it a desirable spot for future visits.

Camp hosts are very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the help with finding an alternative campsite for a large Toyhauler

It is a nice shady place to camp, close to the water and decent location within the black hills area.

Overall, had a great time at the campground. The lake was warm, beautiful and easily accessed from our site. My only suggestion is to be more clear that campers cannot be directly filled at the campground. I thought I could fill at one of the water spigots on site, but was told by the camp host that was not allowed.

No complaints other than a small dog barked all day and most of the night and it could be heard all across the campground. I was hoping the host would make contact with the owner.

Beautiful campground - very well kept. There are rules - which we appreciate - bit we didn't appreciate the way they were enforced. The manner of some workers was gruff and unpleasant.

Nice, basic campground and close to Mount Rushmore. The lake was pretty. Our site was hilly and uncomfortable. Just a small flat spot for the tent and everything else was sloped.

We absolutely love this place. We had a wonderful campsite thanks to the host. Originally our site was No. 5. It was a terrible site only 15 feet from a stinking outhouse. They allowed us to move to a first come first serve site . This site had a wonderful view of the lake and was a pull through. We will be back, just not near an outhouse!

I was quite skeptical making reservations at a campground with a marina during the summer months as my past experiences have been... shall we say.... less than peaceful! When I arrived at the campsite, I was pleased to find the sites were a little farther apart than the 'rub elbows with your neighbor' norm. I was utterly shocked at how clean the campsite was! No broken bottles or glass needing to be raked out of the way, no trash stuffed between the slates of the picnic table, no cigarette butts needing to be picked out of the fire ring and only minimal raking of pine cones was necessary to start setting up camp. Although there were campers across the road and to both the left and right of me, I never once heard noise from their campsites! The restroom was extremely clean and well stocked and the camp hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed not having cell service for four glorious days! The fishing pier was more than adequate (the wind wasn't cooperating during my trip) and I have found a great place to bring the grandkids for a fun-filled day of catching perch and other small fish. This was, without a doubt, the best campground I have found in the Black Hills and I am counting the days until my next trip!

Sheridan Lake CG has a very attractive layout with large ponderosa pines shading most sites. The campground hosts do an excellent job of maintaining this recreation site.
