Most sites are drive through, and this is really more of a big parking lot ride off the main drag. That's not a complaint, but just best to keep in mind that this is the big rig camping ground in the national park. For a more backcountry experience, you could go and try to snag a spot on "The Wall" boondocking grounds right of Hwy 240 going to Wall North of the park.

Excellent Rv campsite! Had Excellent wifi coverage! Just beautiful! Excellent nightly ranger programs. This is my 2nd favorite campsite next to Willow Beach, AZ!

Although “campsites” were only widened areas of the road, they were adequate. Picnic tables were shaded. Communication regarding our site was good. The location right on the loop road was very convenient. The best feature was the evening program at the amphitheater, conducted by the rangers. The first was a numerous look at the wildlife in the Badlands. After dark, telescopes were set up and we were given a “tour” of the constellations. Both programs were excellent.

The location is the reason to camp here. We didn’t need to use the facilities. There’s an adequate dump station. The temps can be extreme.
The park is beautiful! Much can be seen from the roadway but the hikes give another perspective.

We loved this campground. Very well kept and beautiful scenery (even with the storms we got when we stayed). The cafeteria down the road was also very good and appreciated.
