What Guests Are Saying
Cedar Pass Campground offers beautiful scenery and a perfect location for exploring the Badlands, with friendly campground hosts and clean, spacious sites that provide privacy. Guests enjoy excellent stargazing opportunities and convenient access to trails and facilities. However, some reviews mention outdated showers and occasional cleanliness issues in the bathrooms, as well as a lack of shade and privacy between sites. Overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to the park's attractions.

While the campground is very well situated and the bathrooms were clean and it was nice to have shower options, it would also have been nice to know that sites 14 and 16 go underwater and are the last to drain in a rainstorm (which are common). If you are booking and tent camping, I’d suggest trying to avoid those two spots or be 100% sure to set up on the highest ground (which we also mean to do always but sometimes need a reminder, especially without tent pads).
It would be helpful if hints like this were relayed by the campsite host, but as that was definitely not our experience, we wanted to share that here for future campers!

Campsites are parallel to and along the road. No facilities at each site other than a picnic table and sun shelter. Quiet campground considering how close sites are. No fire rings as campfires are prohibited. Campground is within walking distance of the Visitor Center with beautiful view of the rock formations. Bathhouse was clean while we were there. A dump station is available.

Nice campground with stunning view of the Badlands. The water in the women's shower never got hot. My husband said the men's shower didn't have that problem and were great.

Dishwashing sink was very helpful and hot showers were nice although very low pressure.
