What Guests Are Saying
Lock A campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. The spacious campsites, beautiful views of the Cumberland River, and opportunities for biking and relaxing are significant highlights. While some facilities, like the bathrooms, are noted as outdated and in need of upgrades, the overall experience is positive, with many guests eager to return.

We LOVE Lock A and always look for opportunities to visit. Our favorite site is 24, on the end of the row that gives our dogs a nice place to play and explore. The sites are paved, and sit right on the Cumberland River. Watching the barge traffic go by, day and night, is nice. So much to do in the area; just as nice to sit and relax. One of our most favorite campgrounds!

We love staying at Lock 4. It is fun being right on the river and watching the boats and barges. We also enjoyed biking on the trail and walking down to the dam. It is a very relaxing, quite campground. The sunsets are also great!

Nice place when you want to get away from it all. Bring yard games with you (horse shoes, bat mitten ect...) fishing, swimming and water sports are the only things to do. So don’t count on eating out or seeing a movie. Good place to reconnect with the family and friends.

We stayed on the river. It was beautiful waking up with the foggy waterfront view. The playground was close enough that we could let the kids play and keep an eye on them from our site, and there’s a good paved loop for bike riding. The bathhouse was clean and in good condition.
